How To Make Your Own Organic Facial Serum; For An Even Skin, Rejuvenating And Anti-aging Serums.

Taking care of your skin has never been more important than it is today. Daily exposure to toxins, pollutants and chemicals affect our skin. So it is important to protect the skin from harmful environments. Facial serum is a must have thing for your daily skin care regimen nowadays.

What is this facial serum? What is it different from creams and lotions?

What is this facial serum?
Facial serum is a light and fast absorbing liquid that has a high concentration of active ingredients such as antioxidants, peptides, nourishing agents, anti-aging ingredients and skin brighteners. It doesn’t have thicker and heavier ingredients those are you can see on the creams and lotions; which act like a barrier on the skin. And the serums absorb faster than creams.

I wanted a serum for an even completion. It was difficult to choose a right serum because of two reasons; high prices of the serums and harsh synthetic chemicals in it, such as petrolatum or mineral oils. fortunately I can use my homemade facial serum.

Few drops of organic facial serum have the concentrated efficient power to treat and hydrate your skin. Serum should always be applied before moisturizer to allow maximum absorption.

Night care serum oil for an evenly balanced skin
This wonderful balancing and rejuvenating blend is suitable for all skin types. Do not apply this serum during the day because it has citrus oil in it. You might already know that, citrus oils become phototoxic.

  • Geranium essential oil 10drops
  • Palma Rosa essential oil 10drops
  • Carrot seeds essential oil 5drops
  • Fennel essential oil 5drops
  • Lemon essential oil 5drops
  • Dark color container/bottle to store
  • Small pipette

Method:
Pour your carrier oil in the dark color bottle and then add the essential oils.
Shake or roll the bottle for 2-3 minutes.
Let the serum sit for 24 hours for the oils to mix well.
Wash your face before apply the serum.
Apply pea sized amount of serum evenly over your clean face and neck.
Gently massage upward using your fingertips to completely absorb.

Rejuvenating serum for all skin type
Ingredients:
  • Golden Jojoba oil 10ml
  • Rosehip oil 10ml
  • Frankincense essential oil 4 drops
  • Lavender essential oil 3 drops
  • Geranium essential oil 2 drops
Organic facial serum for anti-aging
Ingredients:
  • Rosehip oil 5ml
  • Macadamia oil 5ml
  • Olive squalane oil 10ml
  • Frankincense essential oils 4 drops
  • Lavender essential oil 4 drops
To keep the quality of the oil mixture, store the serum bottle in a cool dark place. High anti-oxidant levels of the oils will keep the shelf life of serum longer. Oils can generally be stored for up to 6 months. If the serum begins to smell bad, it's gone rancid and discards. Make a small amount of serum every time to avoid wasting.

How to customize your own homemade facial serum?
Organic facial serum consists with two types of oils. There are carrier oils and essential oils. You can change the carrier oils for your skin type and essential oils for your targeted treatment. Don’t forget about the correct dilution of your essential oils to avoid burning of your skin. I hope to write a post about carrier oils later.
